In a thrilling ICC Women’s World Cup match, England beat India by 4 runs to reach the semi-final. The match took place in Indore, where both teams played competitively, but England held their nerves in the final overs to secure a crucial win and book their spot in the next round.

Batting first, England scored 288 runs for 8 wickets. Captain Heather Knight played an outstanding innings, scoring 109 runs with 15 fours and a six. Amy Jones contributed 56 runs while Sciver-Brunt added 38. For India, Deepti Sharma was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets.

In reply, India lost two early wickets for just 42 runs. However, Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana built a strong partnership of 125 runs. Harmanpreet scored 70 and Mandhana made 88 runs, keeping India in the chase until the very end.

India needed 14 runs in the final over, but their batters could only manage 9. As a result, India finished with 284 runs for 5 wickets and fell short by just 4 runs. It was a close finish that could have gone either way.
